This zoo is home to about 150 animals, scattered throughout 13
acres. It is small and easy to navigate. The animals and
facilities all seem to be well taken care of.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS- Because the zoo is small, it is
easier for young children to walk it. The price is very
reasonable. There is a great variety of animals to see;
the kids each found their favorite!

HOURS: Call for hours as the schedule varies
Take a 90 minute round-trip ride through the amazingly scenic
country side from Wilmington to Mt. Cuba Picnic Grove. There
is a half hour delay for picnics or nature walks. Well worth
the price! There is also a longer trip available for a
slightly higher charge but that one might be too long for younger
children. The shorter trip seemed to just about perfect for
young children.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS- The children loved the train ride.
It was nice to have the break in the middle of the ride to allow
them to run around. Reasonably priced so it is
great for even a large family.

Friendly Travel Tip:
Older children can use time in the car or airplane to
learn a new craft. There are some great books
about learning to knit, crochet and cross-stitch.
Your child will be occupied and have a sense of
accomplishment when they have completed a project by the
end of the journey. |
