Pick your own fruit on this 100 acre farm.  Great variety of fruit, including strawberries, apples, blueberries, and cherries.  Stop in the Barnyard to see the pygmy goats on their mountain.  There is also a playground available.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-  The kids have so much fun picking their own fruit.  The barnyard and playground were nice additions.

Woods Hole, MA    508.495.2001
HOURS:  Tues - Sat 11a - 4p
The Woods Hole Aquarium is actually a research facility.  It features over 140 species;  often changing.  Besides the large aquarium tanks, you will find two hands-on "touch tanks" to gently touch a variety of sea life.  You can also go "behind the scenes" and see the researchers handling the marine animals.  They are usually happy to answer your questions.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-  The touch tanks were a lot of fun.  It was neat to be able to ask questions of the researchers.
FAMILY FRIENDLY CONS-  Parking is an issue;  there is none on-site.  There are a limited number of parking meters in the area.  Your best option is to park at Falmouth and take the trolley to Woods Hole (call the facility for details).  The tour does not take long;  the kids seemed to be done in not much more than an hour.

Family Friendly Travel Tip:
Older children can use time in the car or airplane to learn a new craft.  There are some great books about learning to knit, crochet and cross-stitch.  Your child will be occupied and have a sense of accomplishment when they have completed a project by the end of the journey.
