The Clark County Museum takes a look back at the history of the Las Vegas area.  Walk through the Exhibit Hall and experience history with a variety of hands-on displays.  Then head out to the Ghost Town and Mining Trail to reflect on the local history as you walk through the hot terrain.  There is also Heritage Street; a charmingly laid out street with historical homes from a variety of eras.  The homes can be walked through and are decorated in appropriate period pieces.  There is also a train and train depot to visit. 
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-     A variety of indoor and outdoor areas.  Hands-on activities.  Reasonably priced.
FAMILY FRIENDLY CONS-  No snack shop available;  bring beverages especially if visiting in the hot summer months.

Our stay at Circus Circus was a perfect mix of typical Las Vegas fare and child-friendly extras.    The hotel room was clean and modern;  adjoining rooms were offered.  Prices were very reasonable.  There are a variety of restaurants;  most of which were family friendly.  Our children thoroughly enjoyed the Midway with its variety of carnival-style games and an arcade.   In the middle they feature circus acts about every half an hour.  Great variety!   If you are looking for something more, try their Adventuredome Indoor Amusement Park.   Pay per ride or get an all day pass to enjoy the day at this 5 acre domed park.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-  Adjoining rooms were a plus for the family.  Though Vegas is usually known for it's adult-oriented activities, Circus Circus allows a family to enjoy a visit to Vegas. 
FAMILY FRIENDLY CONS-   Breakfast is not included.  Check in was very hectic and disorganized.

HENDERSON-  HOMEWOOD SUITES (by HILTON)

Looking for family friendly accommodations off "the Strip"?  The Homewood Suites is a great choice.  This hotel offers a variety of rooms;  from studios to two-bedrooms with two-bathrooms.  Enjoy a breakfast buffet each morning that has a choice of hot and cold meal items.  Also, take part in their Welcome Home Reception on Monday through Thursday evenings for a light meal and beverage.  Each night offers a different choice of food.  Amenities include a large outdoor pool, fitness center, business center and self-serve laundry with 2 coin-operated washers and 2 coin-operated dryers.  Need a snack?  There are a variety of vending machines on each level as well as a snack shop on the main floor.   The room and main hotel facility were very clean and well-kept.  The staff was friendly and attentive.  They seemed happy to answer questions about the area.  Parking was adequate.  We appreciated the level of secured access to the hotel.  Everything required a hotel key to access;  from the door to the parking area to the laundry room.  Pricing was reasonable, especially considering the room size and how nice the hotel is.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-  Free breakfast daily and evening reception four days per week.  Clean and well-maintained.  Huge rooms;  perfect for a family.  Friendly, informative staff.  Abundant facilities such as a pool, fitness center, snack shop, and business center.

Small pizzeria has a menu with a variety of Italian dishes.  Food was very good and reasonably priced. 
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-   Good variety of meal choices.  Reasonably priced.  Laid back family atmosphere.
FAMILY FRIENDLY CONS-  No kids menu.  Small location.

HENDERSON-  HALF SHELL

Half Shell is a seafood-focused restaurant that is family friendly.  Though the menu has an amazing variety of seafood dishes, there are also plenty of other choices such as pizzas, steaks and burgers.  There is a kids menu as well.  The kids meal portions are generous, as are the adult meals.  Meals are moderately-priced.  There are a variety of arcade games available to keep the kids entertained (prices vary).
