Experience life in 1840 -1910 Texas as you walk around this 13
acre living history museum. Take a self paced tour through the
38 historic structures, including a working Civil War era farm, a
traditional Jewish household, homes, school, church and shops.
Listen to costumed interpreters as they go about daily life in the
time period. Picnic areas available.

The interpreters were very entertaining and informative.
Educational and fun. Picnic areas are available so bring a
picnic lunch.

Educational and fun! Learn about a variety of nature and
science topics as you walk through the displays. Many
hands-on, interactive activities. Some favorite areas are
Lagoon Nature Walk, Paleontology Lab, Dental Gallery and the
Disaster Zone. The younger children were very interested in
the Urban Farm area as well.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS- Lots
of hands on activities. Plenty of fun stuff for a variety of
ages (even mom and dad!). The staff is very friendly and
willing to answer questions.-

HOURS: Mother's Day - Labor Day: Daily 9a - 7p
30 acre park with swimming lake that has a 20 foot slide, 2 sandy
beaches, picnic areas complete with bbq grills, and lots of shade
trees.
FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-
It was nice to have the sandy beaches and the shade trees in close
proximity so we could take time to play then time to cool off.
There are life guards on duty.
